There was another good turn out at Retro Gulls last Friday, in our latest event aimed at the over 50’s.
The event was hosted by Media Officer and Supporters Liaison Officer Dominic Mee with Ex-Torquay United player Russell Musker first up with a Q & A session, which was followed by a quiz and rounded off with a visit and talk from Debbi Shotton from Rowcroft Hospice.
The afternoon was started with our Retro Gulls being asked for their memories of their first ever game which produced some very interesting and varied games mentioned with many seeing their first Torquay United game end in victory.
It was Russell Musker stepping up next as he took to the floor to face questions about his career and his time here at Plainmoor. Russell told the Retro Gulls about his good times at here Torquay United as well as his time at Taunton Town as manager where he led the club to FA Vase success winning the trophy in 2001.
Next up Media Assistant Ian Brown led the 15 question quiz which had the turn out thinking hard about their answers and there were lots of correct ones given, which led to a close run contest and only one point separated the top two teams.
The event was rounded off when Debbi Shotton from Rowcroft Hospice gave a very inciteful talk about the work the Hospice do, before showing a presentation on the screen about a family and the things that are available at Rowcroft for not just the patient but all of the family in their difficult time.
TUAFC would like to thank our guests and supporters for turning up to the event and we invite our Retro Gulls to our last event of the season which will take place in Boots & Laces on Thursday 12th May from 2pm – 4pm. We look forward to seeing you all in attendance.
