Time is running out for the Yellow Army to get their hands on a piece of FA Cup history, with all proceeds being donated to a very special project for Torbay Hospital’s Louisa Cary Children’s Ward.
Following on from the tremendous response received from our players shirt auction earlier this season, fans now have one last chance to grab some unique FA Cup memorabilia, with nine officially branded Emirates FA Cup match balls, signed by the United players, going up for auction.
Following the win at Hampton & Richmond in the 4th Qualifying Round, Gary Johnson’ side made national headlines in the 1st Round Proper, as The Gulls secured a memorable 2-2 draw at Plainmoor in front of the ITV cameras against former winners Derby County, earning themselves a BBC-televised replay at Pride Park in the process.
The Louisa Cary Ward is the Children’s Ward at Torbay Hospital and cares for a number of children aged between 0-18 with any medical, surgical or psychological conditions requiring inpatient care.
TUAFC is proud to have partnered up with Hospital for a number of initiatives during the past few of years, including our Online Advent Calendar and Christmas visits by United players, however this latest fundraising drive hopes to enable the Hospital to purchase valuable equipment, which will directly benefit child patients on the ward.
With a new monitor to measure a child’s carbon dioxide levels quickly identified as a priority by the ward, Torquay United AFC is calling on the Yellow Army to join us in making this possibility become a reality, by helping the Club to raise the funds required to make this purchase, whilst in turn, getting the opportunity to purchase a special piece of TUAFC folklore too!
