We are pleased to announce that midfielder Frank Vincent is set to rejoin TUFC on a long-term loan from AFC Bournemouth.
Vincent proved to be a valuable member of last season’s promotion winning squad, after joining United from the Premier League side at the end of January.
After making a number of impressive appearances from the bench, Frank stepped up to make his full senior debut in the promotion-clinching 2-0 win over Eastbourne Borough at Plainmoor in April, and won the ‘Man of the Match’ award in the process.
Manager Gary Johnson was understandably delighted to secure the services of Vincent for the season ahead.
“It’s brilliant to have him back,” said Johnson.
“He knows our philosophy, he was part of our DNA last season and he’s a great kid and a great footballer. If we can help him in his development then were very pleased to help out. It’s not every player that goes out on loan and comes back with a winners medal, Frank did that and he & his family were very happy with his last loan. Hopefully he, and we, will be as successful as we were last season.”
The Gulls’ boss also pointed out the benefits of building strong relationships with respective parent clubs.
“Obviously they get feedback from us, but also they get feedback from the player on us, its a two way thing. Obviously Frank has gone back and said he enjoyed it. We looked after him, he got his games, so it’s nice, because the more clubs you can get relationships with, the better. If they trust you to look after their young players then that’s brilliant for us because they’ll be happy in the future to give you more players.”
Keep an eye out for an interview with Frank coming to Official TUFC TV soon.
The move is subject to confirmation from the FA and National League.
