Torquay United Football Club is pleased to announce the signing of defender, Jean-Yves Koué Niate.
Niate, 25, joins the squad after spells in France and Belgium before arriving in England in 2016. He joined Solihull Moors and then moved to Oxford City, Ebbsfleet United, and Guiseley AFC.
“I’m pleased to get him,” said TUFC head coach, Gary Owers. “He’s a big, imposing character. He’s 6 foot 4, muscular and athletic, as well having experience playing in the National League and National League South.
“I’m bringing him in to hopefully be a focal point of our defence.”
The Gaffer is still hunting for new faces to add to his squad.
“I’ve got two central defenders in George [Essuman] and Jakub [Sokolik] who could easily play in midfield so I could still add another centre-half, if the possibility arises.
“I think we definitely need another midfield player and looking at the front part of the team, maybe another attacking player. Still maybe three or four players yet to add and I’m working very hard on that at the minute.”
We’ll be uploading an interview to Official TUFC TV with Jean soon.
