Striker Ruairi Keating has agreed a new contract to stay at Torquay United Football Club.

Keating, 22, scored 4 goals last season and TUFC head coach, Gary Owers, is hoping that he’ll see more from the young Irishman in 2018/19.

“I’m pleased that he has re-signed,” said Owers. “I think by his own admission he had a frustrating season last year. He’s gone away and thought long and hard about what he wants to do and he’s coming back. He’s quick, he’s strong, and he’s alright in the air. I’d like to see a really big year from him.

“If you’re a player that plays at the top end of the pitch your job is to score goals, it’s simple. I’ve been trying to drum that into him and I think he understands that. It’s up to to him, if he can score some goals in pre-season or early in the season then he can play in the team every week.”
