In line with all National League clubs, Torquay United AFC will be adhering to a social media boycott from 15:00 on Friday 30th April to 23:59 on Monday 3rd May.
The FA, Premier League, EFL, FA Women’s Super League, FA Women’s Championship, PFA, LMA, PGMOL, Kick It Out and the FSA will unite for this weekend’s boycott in response to the ongoing and sustained discriminatory abuse received online by players and many others connected to football, and the National League board supporting this action.
The FA’s full statement can be read here.
With this action in mind, the Club will not be providing its usual matchday updates service across via our official Twitter / Facebook / Instagram accounts for the fixtures against Eastleigh on Saturday 1st May (3pm KO) and Chesterfield on Monday 3rd May (3pm KO).
The Yellow Army won’t miss out on any of the action from these two vital fixtures in The Gulls’ quest for promotion though, with a range of options available:
- Our hugely popular Livestream service will once again be on offer for the Eastleigh fixture, with an hour-long pre-match show beginning at 2pm. Passes can be purchased for £9 here
- The Club will also be providing live commentary of both matches via Official TUFC Radio here
- For both the Eastleigh and Chesterfield fixtures, we will also be introducing a ‘Live Text’ service via our website, which will include pre-match team news, as well updates throughout the course of each match. This service will be available from around 2.15pm on the day of each fixture here
