Torquay United’s superb partnership with SPACE continues to thrive
TUFC’s longstanding partnership with SPACE was again on full show this week, with the group enjoying two events in Boots & Laces, whilst raising valuable and much-needed funds for the Club at the same time!
SPACE are commissioned by the NHS to offer a support planning service to individuals with a Learning Disability / Autism in Torbay. They identify people to identify their chosen activities to meet their assessed needs within their agreed budget. SPACE also work with people to help identify appropriate activities or jobs in the local area.
In addition to their hugely popular disco held at the Club, this week the group enjoyed a competitive skittle tournament, with a superb prize draw making the occasion even more fun for all!
To make things even more exciting, Interim Manager Aaron Downes dropped in to pay a visit with members of the first-team squad, which was an obvious highlight for the many Gulls fanatics present!
Aaron Uglow, Support Planning Manager paid tribute to all involved.
“Massive thank you for what Jo, Dave and Amanda did for us, especially the players visits, this made the day for so many.
“Please pass my personal thanks onto all the players, and Aaron Downes for taking time out for us, we appreciate they are all really busy and going through these extremely tough times first hand.”
As another bonus United presented SPACE with 50 tickets that saw them attend yesterday’s home match against Hampton & Richmond as guests of the Club. Needless to say, they were once again in loud and proud mood in our Family Stand!
Thank You!
Everyone at Torquay United FC would like to say express its gratitude to SPACE for donating towards our continued fight for survival.
Having raised £89.64 via a bucket collection, and a further £25.59 at Wednesday’s disco, a fantastic £587.12 was raised during Skittles event, as SPACE showed how much THEIR Football Club meant to THEM.
Thank you so much for your support SPACE, we can’t wait to see you again soon!
