United duo Ross Marshall and Ryan Hanson paid Pegg Estates a visit this week, as TUAFC took the opportunity to thank another one of our valued sponsors.
Pegg Estates, based in Torquay, pride themselves on being a bespoke Estate Agent for Torbay and surrounding villages, and owner Ben Pegg told us a little bit more about how the business developed earlier this week, as United stars Marshall and Hanson paid them a visit.
“I’ve been an Estate Agent since 2006 and I’ve always wanted to have my name above the door, which is why I started Pegg Estates in August 2020.
“I felt that the market was going to do weird and wonderful things and luckily for me it did – we were able to establish Pegg Estates quite quickly and in a really difficult time for a lot of people, so to be able to help out as much as we did with a lot of people’s house moves was, for me, quite important, and now we’re one of the market leaders in Torbay.
As Ben goes on to explain, running a successful local business whilst partnering up with his local Football Club seemed like the perfect combination.
“I went to school at Westlands which is now The Spires, as we all know. I used to see the ground from our lessons really. A lot of friends of mine used to play for the academy many years ago and a lot of my friends that I play football with now, they’re season ticket holders so they go quite regularly and I’ve dealt with Sharon for years now and Sharon asked me, ‘what can I do?’, put a package together and it was very simple really.
“It made sense to help get my name out there again a bit more through what is the area’s biggest sporting team. For me football has been in my family and in my life for all of my life, so that’s why I wanted to do it.
“The levels of business have definitely gone up – we don’t necessarily know sometimes where the business levels do come from, but being out there in front of thousands of people every week, whether it be via the matchday programme, people see the signage, come onto the website, or even seeing it on television, it’s hard to understand which part of it it’s coming from, but my business levels, the amount of people we are helping move, has gone up significantly during the 2022/23 season.”
