Our Match Sponsors against Eastleigh tomorrow will see ‘Lil’s Last Lot’ come together to celebrate the life of Lilian Matthews.
Lilian, cousin of long-standing Gulls fanatic Eddy Pyle, moved to Torquay 25 years ago to be near her family following the death of her brother.
Following in her cousin’s footsteps, she immediately became a Torquay United fanatic, and helped sponsor several games over the course of the following months.
“She enjoyed coming to Plainmoor, to enjoy the food and the games, and from her Care home she would also listen to the crowd and shout for Torquay,” recalled Eddy.
