When The Non-League Paper asked Gary Johnson to name his own ‘Greatest Gaffer’ last weekend, there could be few arguments with the man selected by United’s boss.

It was during a spell at Watford in the late 1990s that Johnson forged a successful working relationship with former England manager Graham Taylor, before Gary would go on to get his own taste of international football with Latvia in 1999.

The experiences gained during that two year spell at Vicarage Road certainly stood Johnson in good stead for his own highly decorated career, with his return to English shores yielding success at the likes of Yeovil, Bristol City, Cheltenham and others, prior to his revolution at Plainmoor beginning in 2018.
