Torquay United is pleased to announce the loan signing of Bristol Rovers winger Lucas Tomlinson.
20-year old Lucas is widely regarded as one of Rovers’ most exciting prospects, having made five substitute appearances for the first team since turning professional two years ago.
With Tomlinson also gaining experience on loan at National League South side Bath City earlier this season, his addition to the squad provides Gulls boss Gary Johnson with another exciting option as the 2020/21 campaign heads towards its climax.
“He’s a wide player, and he can play both sides,” began Johnson.
“We felt that we needed another wide player in our squad. We’ve been watching him for a month or so, and he played against us in behind-closed-doors friendly and did very well – He scored one, and made one against us.
“He’s only a little ‘un, but he’s got quick feet and he’s ‘jinky’. He’s going to be very dangerous in the final third, once he gets to know our game and what he needs to do for us. We may not see him early – or we may do. We don’t know yet, but at the moment he looks exactly the type we’re pleased to have in our club.”
