Torquay United AFC is delighted to announce the signing of former Sutton United left-back Ben Wyatt.

26 year-old Wyatt arrives at Plainmoor after making 24 appearances for League Two side Sutton last season, having assisted them in pipping The Gulls to the National League title in 2020/21.

After starting out as a youngster at Ipswich Town, Ben moved on to join Colchester United in 2016, however it was his superb form for the likes of Braintree and St Albans that really saw his career move up a gear, and ultimately secured him a move to Gander Green Lane.

Having been unveiled to 2022/23 Season Ticket holders at Friday’s exclusive training game at Plainmoor, United boss Gary Johnson is now looking to for his latest addition to replicate some of his previous successes in a Torquay shirt next term.

“The signing of Ben is a good one, he’s experienced at this level, and also experienced a promotion at this level. The beauty of Ben is he is a left-sided player, who can play left-back, left wing-back or left wing, and with us, he’s going to have to play all of them.”

This move is subject to FA ratification.
