Torquay United AFC and Torbay Council are delighted to announce that they will working in partnership to spearhead the promoting of Foster Carers in the bay.

This project emphasises on the need for communities to take an active role in raising children, whilst also ensuring that young people’s aspirations are met by involving them for the greater good of the local community, rather than isolating them.

Torbay Council’s Cabinet Member for Children’s Services, Cordelia Law, said. “Torbay has the second highest number of children requiring Foster care in England.

“We estimate that between 50-100 new foster carers will be needed to meet these figures. We feel strongly that it takes a community to raise a child.”
