Torquay United’s Under-18s took another step forward towards retaining the League Cup on Saturday morning, with an emphatic 5-2 win over Bridgwater.

Doubles from George Collins and Ben Aldous, in addition to a strike from first-year player Jack Kennell, were enough to defeat the hosts, as Ryan Dickson’s men made it through to the final four of the Gary Else Memorial League Cup.

The young Gulls were in superb form throughout, with Dickson quick to praise his side.

“The boys played really well against the side that is top of the league,” said United’s U18s boss.

“It was a good performance from all, especially the midfield players. They were probably the difference in the game, in the engine room with lots of energy and creativity.”
