TUAFC is delighted to announce that Emma Goulbourne has been awarded the Vanarama National League Volunteer of the Month Award for September.

Every month three winners are chosen from each of the three National League divisions to highlight the outstanding contribution made by volunteers across the the three divisions that make up the National League.

Emma has been volunteering in the Club’s youth department for four seasons, in a role which sees her undertake various admin duties including payments, player registrations and kit orders.

Speaking of winning the award, Emma said:

“It’s an honour to receive the award and completely unexpected!

“I am proud to be part of the Club and by doing the work I do, allows the coaches to get on with the coaching and concentrate on the football side without the added stress of everything else that goes with the running of the teams. There are a great group of coaches who I have build a good relationship with and the Torquay United staff are all very supportive of the youth team and what it’s aiming to achieve.”

Head of Youth Chris Todd was particularly delighted to see Emma win the award.

“She is a godsend to be fair, especially for the youth,” began Chris.

“She works all hours, solving problems, registering people, sorting kit, she literally does everything and everything – just for the love of the Club really. She’s definitely someone that should be recognised in the footballing world for what she does.

“She spends hours on the phone, dealing with people who need their kit, that is one of many things she does. She also turns up to the training sessions, and is on hand if any has any queries, or needs any bits and bobs. She does a cracking job, and as a volunteer, she is unreal.”

Well done, Emma!
