United take their five-game National League winning streak to Hampton & Richmond on Saturday.
TUFC manager Gary Johnson is eager to keep a great run of form going but is wary of a Hampton and Richmond side that beat promotion contenders Welling United last weekend.
“We’ve just gone through their team and they’ve got some dangers, because actually if they beat us they’ll be on 31 points. they could find themselves very near the play-offs and that’s probably where their first sight is. They’re dangerous and we want them to be dangerous because they play Woking twice over Christmas. With a bit of luck we can get a result and they can get a couple of results against their local rivals. They are dangerous and we will respect them.”
Torquay United midfielder Ryan Dickson and Bristol City loanee Opi Edwards are both side lined for two weeks.
“Ryan Dickson is out for two or three week, maybe two weeks,” added Johnson “Opi is longer than we thought because he had a scan and that’s probably going to be two weeks as well. They’ll miss the Christmas period.”
Defender Kyle Cameron and forward Ruairi Keating will miss the match due to suspension.
“We’re quite comfortable with our team and our squad at the moment. We are able, in my opinion, to cover for both Ruairi and Kyle.”
Hampton’s recent form has been up and down. A 1-0 win over East Thurrock at the beginning of December arrested a four game losing streak. Then came a 4-0 defeat to Concord Rangers, a 0-0 draw against Gloucester, and they come into Saturday’s match on the back of a 2-1 win over Welling United last weekend.
