Plainmoor has played host to a series of invitation-only trial matches over the last couple of days.

Before the heavy transfer period starts for all clubs, there was time to assess trialists looking for a chance at professional football.

Over 70 players came from all over the country to participate, and we would like to thank everyone that attended.

“It was a worthwhile exercise,” said Gary. “There are maybe one or two that we follow up on over the course of the summer.”

“We’re casting the net before the nitty gritty starts to see if there is anyone out there that comes to us. Lots of these CVs have been collected over the recent months.

“A few of the lads have been released from clubs and made themselves available. They all came down here at their own expense. Some down for the two days and they’ve gone out there trying to win a contract at Torquay United.”

In other news, Joseph Pope’s match to support Damon Lathrope is nearing. Joseph is lining up a host of ex-TUFC players that are looking forward to turning out at Plainmoor one more time.

Please get behind him as he looks to raise funds to help Damon after his premature retirement from football.
