United’s Under-18 side bowed out of the FA Youth Cup at the Second Qualifying Round on Monday night, as they went down to defeat at Fairfax Park.

All the goals came in a frantic nine-minute spell towards the end of the first half.

The hosts opened the scoring from a corner through Sandford, and that lead was extended seven minutes later via the penalty spot, as Coppin made it 2-0 to Town.

The young Gulls pulled a goal back through Lewis Brooks just before the interval, and despite laying siege to the Bridgwater goal during the second half, it was the home side that progressed through to the next round.

Chris Todd’s side are back in South West Counties action on Saturday, as they travel to Champions Sports Academy.
