United head into Saturday’s match against Chester with a few fresh faces to combat a significant injury list.

Among the temporary bumps and bruises that affect any squad, United will be without certain members of the squad for the near future.

The newest injury to hit United is the loss of Jake Gosling, who will have to rest for at least six weeks after fracturing a bone in his foot in Monday’s match against Woking.

Ryan Clarke is still recovering from a back-muscle strain that occurred in our game against Guiseley. His return is expected to take 4-6 weeks, but might possibly take longer.

Damon Lathrope and Sam Chaney have minor groin injuries. They will hopefully be back in full training next week.

Josh Gowling has started non-contact training, and he is going to be gradually brought back into full training. Torquay United Head of Medical, Gareth Law, stresses that his return is going to be carefully managed.

Yan Klukowski has Plantar Fasciitis which will require rest and recovery.

Jordan Lee remains with Bournemouth to monitor his recovery from an illness.

There is better news on the return of defender Liam Davis who has started initial non-contact training and he will hopefully start running next week. He will then return to full training. A further update on his progress will then be published.
