Torquay United AFC would like to thank everyone that has donated towards the Club’s fundraising efforts to support the vital work of Devon Air Ambulance.

Over the past few months, many supporters visiting Boots & Laces have made kind donations to the Devon Air Ambulance collection box stationed at the bar, and with it being filled in double-quick time, last week the Club was delighted to arrange for the donations to be collected by the charity.

Having celebrated 30 years of service last year, Devon Air Ambulance Trust is in place to raise funds to keep Devon’s two air ambulances flying, and to enable their Critical Care Doctors and Paramedics to deliver expert care to patients, wherever they may be.

In 2020 they extended their emergency vehicles fleet with two rapid response Critical Care Cars, adapted to contain the same life-saving equipment as the helicopters and enable the medical team to arrive quickly by road and are particularly useful when responding to incidents in built-up areas.

Jo-Anne Rigby, Head of Fundraising for Devon Air Ambulance was delighted with the contributions and thank those who have donated.

“We would like to pass on our sincere thanks to everyone at TUAFC who has helped to raise vital funds by donating their small change to our Devon Air Ambulance collection box at Boots & Laces. Your contribution, however small, has helped to fill the box in such a short space of time and it already needs replacing, that really is fantastic news,” began Jo.

“Every year, our crew are tasked to help hundreds of patients of all ages, all in need of urgent critical care. By supporting us this way, you are helping us to deliver the emergency medical treatment they need across Devon and beyond. Without supporters like yourselves, donating what they can, we simply could not exist so thank you again, your kindness is very much appreciated.”
