Ahead of tomorrow’s match against King’s Lynn Town at Plainmoor, United boss Gary Johnson issued the following message to the Yellow Army.
“Of course, we were disappointed with being knocked out of the cup, however we get a chance to turn it around very quickly.
“So, this is a rally call from your manager to say can we make this game a high energy game, on and off the field. We certainly need to go that extra mile on the pitch, and if we can get our supporters coming to the game, keeping faith for a little while longer, it will create a great atmosphere along with the 1,000 or so new supporters that have been invited to the game – and we would love to keep them. The extra thousand should give us – maybe over 3,000 fans, and that would be fantastic.
“My job is to make sure that our lads mentally and physically give their all, and play in a style to entertain the support that hopefully will be there. I know that our supporters are always responsive to this request from myself. Please don’t miss out, and be there, as I’m sure you will, in support of your Football Club.
“There’s occasions when you, the supporter, knows when our team needs your support and on most occasions, you made it a great event that saw the team through.”
Regarding tomorrow’s Community Day, which will see over 1,000 community guests descend on Plainmoor, many for the first time, the Gaffer ended by paying this tribute to the event.
“The Football Club has been brilliant to arrange this initiative, and it deserves credit.”
