United midfielder Jake Andrews has joined Havant & Waterlooville on loan until the end of the season.

Having arrived at Plainmoor, initially on loan, early into the 2018/19 season, Jake played a prominent role in helping The Gulls securing the National League South title at the end of that campaign, before making the move to Gary Johnson’s side permanent the following summer.

After making a combined total of 119 appearances and scoring 24 goals for the club – including one against The Hawks in the FA Cup earlier this term – Andrews has now made the switch to Hampshire in search of regular first-team football, as Johnson goes on to explain:

“Jake Andrews has moved on to Havant & Waterlooville, after discussions with Jake over the last week or so, we both felt it was important for Jake to play more first team games.

“Unfortunately Jake missed a big part of pre-season, which set him back in the first instance, and then ongoing injuries and illness meant that he missed several games. I couldn’t guarantee Jake starting games at this time, and it was only fair to allow him to go to Havant.

“We wish him well, and thank him for his service over the last three seasons.”
