TUAFC is pleased to announce that Mark Halstead, Tom Lapslie, Kevin Dawson and Ollie Tomlinson have all agreed new deals to remain with the Club.
Halstead, Lapslie and Dawson all played starring roles in The Gulls’ impressive late run, with the latter player turning his loan move from Gloucester City into a permanent one for 2023/24. Tomlinson, meanwhile, enjoyed his own late-season surge, clocking up 15 appearances, scoring one goal, during a loan stint with National League South side Chippenham Town.
The announcement that the popular quartet will be staying at Plainmoor next term will undoubtedly be a huge boost to the Yellow Army, and United manager Gary Johnson was also understandably delighted with the news.
“I’m very excited by the fact that Mark Halstead, Tom Lapslie, Kevin Dawson and Ollie Tomlinson have agreed new deals.
“Mark Halstead had a fantastic season last season, and is one of the best goalkeepers in the National League. Everyone I’m sure will be delighted that Tom Lapslie will be with us once again for the coming campaign. His energy and passion for this Football Club is second to none.
“It’s also great news that Kevin Dawson will be with us for the coming campaign. Kevin joined us late, but everyone saw his influence in the final quarter of the season, and I know for a fact that he’s going to be ready and willing to give everything for our Football Club. I’m also pleased to announce that Ollie Tomlinson, who went on loan to Chippenham late on in the National League South, has agreed a new deal. Ollie proved himself very capable of playing in the National League on loan at Chippenham, to show his undoubted potential.”
Johnson finished by paying tribute to the Club for backing his plans to retain the services of the core group of players who finished 2022/23 so strongly.
