TUAFC is delighted to announce that our home match against Eastleigh will see local sports teams and clubs invited to Plainmoor as guests for our latest Community Day.

Local sports teams and clubs are invited to claim free tickets for United’s upcoming home game against Eastleigh on Easter Monday (18th April) as TUAFC host another Community Day at Plainmoor.

TUAFC prides itself on being a family friendly, all inclusive club, and is delighted to be gearing up for its fourth Community Day of the 2021/22 season.

The Club’s first Community Day took place last October when Gary Johnson’s men ran out 2-0 winners against King’s Lynn Town, with the day seeing United join forces with Sport Torbay, Torbay Weekly, Torbay Council and the Torbay Community to highlight the importance of working together to bring the best out of Torbay, and its residents. The Club made 1000 free tickets available for community groups within the Bay.

In early November, the Club invited NHS and Care staff as guests at Plainmoor when United hosted Dover Athletic, before later that month, to celebrate the Club’s partnership with Her Game Too, 1000 free tickets were made available for females for the Community Day dedicated to the non-profit organisation.

Loyal sponsors Cary Arms & Spa also got on board to make the days a success by sponsoring our hugely popular TUAFC clappers. These are now a familiar sight – and sound – around Plainmoor on matchdays, and we’d like to thank them for their continued support of the Club!

This latest event further emphasises the pride Torquay United AFC has on being at the centre of the local community. As the only professional sporting Club in Torbay, the Club is delighted to use both its heritage and profile to help support and promote local worthy causes. TUAFC has a bold vision for both the Football Club itself, as well as the local area, and will continue striving to be a strong and prominent component of a thriving and prosperous future for the local area.

Jim Parker, editor of Torbay Weekly and chairman of Sport Torbay had this to say on the Club’s latest Community event:

“United have once again come up trumps, and hats off to them.

“The first community day was a huge success and I am sure this one will be just as well supported. This season has been a game-changer for the club off the field with various initiatives bringing it even closer to the local community.

“The icing on the cake would be the playoffs, and then promotion, so fingers crossed!”

Tickets will be allocated in the Wollens Terrace which is all standing, with groups able to take advantage of up to 20 free tickets.

Tickets can be requested by emailing [email protected], or by calling 01803 328666 between 10am-2pm Monday to Friday. When booking please state your club/team and how many tickets you would like.

The Club looks forward to welcoming teams from various sports across the Bay to Plainmoor!
