With Plainmoor welcoming back supporters for the first time since February tomorrow, United boss Gary Johnson is relishing the prospect at being reunited with the Yellow Army once again.

“We’re all very excited to be seeing our fans at Plainmoor tomorrow,” begins Johnson.

“It’s been a long old stint without them, but I am pleased to say that I kept my promise, and that we’d be top of the league by the time the fans came back!

“We’re currently sitting in a nice position. We won’t rest on our laurels, and now we have that extra bit of motivation that will come from our home support.”

It’s almost fitting that the first opponents United’s fans will be witnessing in the flesh this season will be one of the most high-profile, following Wrexham’s recent takeover by Hollywood stars Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney.

For the capacity crowd though – albeit a restricted and socially distanced one – it will be the men in yellow who will receive top billing, following a tremendous start to the season, with The Gulls registering eight wins and a draw from their opening ten fixtures.

“Wrexham have had some good news themselves with the new owners and we wish them well for the future,” said Gary.

“Wrexham have been many years now in the National League and have not yet managed to get back into the Football League, proving how difficult it is to get out of this league we are in. We are going to do our best. It’s been a great start, and we hope to see it through as best we can.

“We look forward to seeing all our fans tomorrow, and we won’t forget the people left at home, we know they are giving us their support as usual from their living rooms.”

Enjoy the game,
