Ten Years of Bristow’s Bench

To add to the sense of occasion, Saturday 6th August 2022 marks ten years to the day that Plainmoor’s magnificent all-seater stand Bristow’s Bench was officially opened prior to a 1-1 draw against then-top flight visitors Stoke City.

Prior to the 1-1 match, Thea Bristow was joined by Stoke boss Tony Pulis, celebrity United superfan Helen Chamberlain, and members of the Bristow family to cut the ceremonial ribbon and declare the stand open, and with it, unveiling a tribute to Thea’s husband Paul, the former United director who sadly passed away in 2010.

A souvenir programme will be available around the stadium on Saturday, whilst those booking a pre-match meal will also receive a special gift in order to help commemorate the occasion.

Pre-Match chat with TUWFC captain Danni Wyatt

As with all games at Plainmoor, a delicious three course pre-match meal will be available in our Number 10’s restaurant, allowing supporters to enjoy a superb menu in comfort, with unrivalled view of the hallowed turf.

Prior to the main event out on the pitch, those in attendance will also be treated to a talk from a Torquay United representative, with Torquay United Women’s captain Danni Wyatt will be giving her thoughts on how England’s epic Euro 2022 victory will take the women’s game to new heights.

With a few spaces still available on Saturday supporters are encouraged to book as soon as possible to avoid disappointment, with our enhanced meal packages including a number of additional benefits for 2022/23, including a complimentary programme and team sheet, use of your own table at half-time for complimentary tea & coffee.

Meals are priced at £36 per person, or £30 for 2022/23 TUAFC Season Ticket Holders. Bookings can be made over the phone on 01803 328666 (10am-2pm Monday to Friday), or alternatively by emailing [email protected]. Please note that supporters wishing to book their place for the Pre Match Meal must either have a ticket for the event, or be a 2022/23 TUAFC Season Ticket holder.
