It was a busy weekend for the JPL sides both home and away, with a number of positive results through the age groups.

Our U12s succumbed to a narrow defeat in their game away at North Somerset RTC Greys. Despite goals from Will Glanfield and a brace from Thomas Ross, it was not quite enough as the hosts ran out 4-3 winners, the Gulls’ first defeat in six games.

It proved to be another difficult weekend for our U13s as they slipped to a 10-1 defeat away at Yeovil Town Community Trust, meanwhile the U14s were narrowly defeated at home, also against Yeovil Town Community Trust. Despite Yeovil taking the lead on ten minutes United equalised three minutes later thanks to a Toby Hard goal. The Glovers regained the lead just before half-time, before an early second-half goal from Coby White levelled the scores up. However two more goals from Yeovil went unanswered as they ran out 4-2 winners.

Our U15s  also travelled to Yeovil Community Trust, where a goal after only five minutes from Jacob Wellington set United on their way. Further goals from Raymond Crooks and a brace from Adam Reda Khalaf gave Torquay a 4-0 half-time lead. Crooks’ second just after the interval extended the advantage, and despite Yeovil pulling three goals back,  Torquay held firm to seal a 5-3 victory.

Against the same opponents, the U16s enjoyed a perfect start with goals from Nathan Lee and Aiden Barrow giving the Gulls a 2-0 half-time lead. A Kai Swann goal just after the break and a second from Lee extended that lead, and despite Yeovil pulling a goal back, further strikes from Swann, and a Liam Hill goal in the 79th minute, saw United run out 6-1 winners.
