After arriving at Plainmoor earlier this week, new loan signing Kieron Evans is relishing his chance to shine for Gary Johnson’s team in the National League next term.

Having broke into Championship side Cardiff City’s first-team last season, Evans then went over to Northern Ireland to help David Healy’s Linfield secure another Danske Bank Premiership title, and he feel the experience he gained during the past twelve months can benefit both himself and The Gulls.

“I’m excited,” began Kieron.

“I had a good start to the season, played a few good games, did well, and then went out on loan in Ireland. It was a different experience, but it helped me a lot, made me grow up a bit, and now I’m ready for this new challenge.”

After learning of United manager Johnson’s interest, a loan move to the English Riviera immediately appealed to the young Bluebirds midfielder, who is now eager to show the Yellow Army what he can do.

“I understood the Gaffer, I knew what he wanted. I’ve watched a few of Torquay’s games from last season, and I thought in my head ‘I can play in those games’. I can bring goals and assists, definitely. I’m good one-v-one, and with both feet.

“I’m delighted, and I can’t wait to get started!”
