Amid the excitement of a new season beginning, our three mascots enjoyed a day to remember on Saturday, with our matchday mascot packages once again creating memories to last a lifetime!
Ahead of our opening day clash against Oldham, the youngsters were led into the home dressing room to mingle with the United players at close quarters, before returning to their seats to watch Gary Johnson’s men make their final pre-match preparations, whilst recounting the magical moments to their family.
Once players left the pitch, they were swiftly followed by our tremendous trio, who accompanied by Torquay United Women’s manager & Mascot Coordinator, Steve Elswood, awaiting the moment they had been waiting all afternoon for… walking out onto the hallowed Plainmoor pitch, side-by-side with their heroes!
As an added bonus, all three took part in an impromptu half-time penalty shoot-out against TUWFC’s Devon Cup hero Sasha Mole, with some superb strikes hitting the back of the net as the Yellow Army cheered them on!
Stuart Prior -whose daughter Daisy along with friend Joseph lived out their dreams against Oldham – said that the experience excelled all expectations.
“Amazing, they had the best day of their lives,” began Stuart.
“They really did enjoy it. It was everything and more to be fair, as they didn’t expect anything at half-time.
“They loved it, and were absolutely gobsmacked by all of it!”
