Ahead of a big cup weekend for TUWFC, there was a huge boost for the side earlier this week, as it was announced that striker Connie Pengelly had joined the Club from Exeter City.
The capture of Pengelly is a real statement of intent for Steve Elswood’s team, who have followed up last season’s Devon Cup win by launching a sustained bid for promotion this term, in addition to securing a place in the Vitality FA Cup 2nd Round for the first time in the Club’s history.
Although Connie is cup-tied for the tie away to Bourenmouth on Sunday afternoon (27/11/22), the addition of last season’s National League Golden Boot winner only serves to highlight the growing stature of Torquay United in the Women’s game, and having notched 26 goals in 28 outings for City, the Yellow Army will be hoping for plenty more celebrations in a Gulls shirt before the season is out.
