We are pleased to announce the signing of goalkeeper, Vincent Dorel on non-contract terms.
Dorel,25, returns to England after a spell with Plymouth Argyle in 2016/17. He made 4 appearances for the Pilgrims spread across the EFL Cup and EFL Trophy. He joined Plymouth from French side, Poire sur Vie.
Vincent started his career at Stade Rennais before moving on to Les Herbiers and then GSI Pontivy. He had been training with Stade Rennais when he received the call to come to United.
“I am ready to give my best and help this team,” said Vincent.
“I know of Torquay from my time at Plymouth Argyle. I was here with Plymouth for a pre-season match last season and I spoke to Nathan Blissett about Torquay United when he joined the club.
The move for Dorel comes after an injury sustained in training to Wigan loanee, Dan Lavercombe. Dan will now return to Wigan and we thank him for his brief time with the Club.
“We’ve had to move swiftly to get a replacement,” said Robbie Herrera. “We found out that Vincent was available so we’ve got him in. It is up to him now to improve his deal. We feel he is a more than adequate replacement.
Vincent will wear the number 30 shirt and is available for Saturday’s match against Chester City.
