Last Friday, The Family Fun Day at Torre Abbey Meadows saw the Torbay community come together to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee.
Torquay United AFC took their place on the meadow alongside a number of other stalls, with many other events taking place to celebrate the historic occasion.
Joining in with the festivities was United mascot Gilbert the Gull, who proved popular amongst the youngsters and took part in a memorable penalty contest with Marvel anti hero Deadpool!
Working together with Steve Elswood’s Devon Cup winners, members of the Torquay United Women’s team were also on hand to meet and greet, whilst a number of footballing challenges were also on offer to keep both local residents and visitors entertained.
TUAFC would like to thank Torbay Council for inviting the Club to take part in what was a great community day for Torbay, and would also like to thank the Torquay United Community Sports Trust for supplying the goal used for the penalty shoot-outs.
