Following the Lionesses’ stunning Euro 2022 win, women’s football is rightfully receiving more national recognition than ever before.

With The Gulls already boasting a trophy-winning team of their own, Steve Elswood’s side are looking to make the most of the interest generated since the weekend, as his group of players continue to reap the benefits of the partnership forged with Torquay United AFC.

2022/23 will see both Gary Johnson’s men and Steve Elswood going for promotion, and they will be doing so in identical kits, as highlighted in the Club’s recent photoshoot to promote the Club’s stunning new Puma home & away strips.

Elswood, captain Danni Wyatt, and the rest of the TUWFC squad are now familiar faces amongst the Yellow Army, often assisting on matchdays, and also with the Club’s numerous community events around the Bay. All of this is just another example of the Club working together for the best for the local community, and everyone at Plainmoor looking forward to more partnership opportunities in the future.

Having seen one Women’s team scale new heights at Euro 2022, the Yellow Army can now play own part in helping TUWFC build on last season’s success, with the launch of ‘Friends Of TUWFC’, enabling supporters to get even closer to the team.

For a £100 donation towards running TUWFC, this package will see Friends receive the following, amongst other benefits:

  • Listing on the TUWFC website
  • Certificate acknowledging your support
  • 2 tickets in the Family Stand for a TUAFC league match at Plainmoor

Initial funds raised by Friends Of TUWFC will go towards supplying all the players with new training wear, which will proudly sport the Friends of TUWFC logo.
