With United set to visit the Racecourse Ground tomorrow, the Club has been provided with the following details for the trip to Wrexham.

Following the incidents in the corresponding fixture last season, Wrexham have moved to reassure travelling supporters that extra security measures will be in place for this season’s game.

TUAFC has been in communication with the Safety Officer and Police regarding this fixture, with a safety plan put in place for supporter welfare. As a result of this, the following procedures have now been put in place:

  • Away fans will be located in lower tier blocks LY2 and LY3.
  • Home fans will be located above in the Upper Tier in the first three blocks, with the first three rows netted off for segregation. These blocks will only be available to Wrexham Club members, so they can monitor attendance and behaviour. It has been noted that at last season’s fixture, these were available in general sale, with no segregation.
  • Wrexham have installed a new segregation fence between the away fans and the next stand.
  • The Club has also installed a new 12 space away fan accessible platform in the lower corner of the away fan section, which is stewarded, and provides a greater distance between general admission home and away fans.
  • Wrexham’s Safety Group has confirmed that extra stewarding will be in place, especially in the upper tiers to ensure no repeat of last year.
