Brett McGavin has won this month’s award, after his thunderous volley against Chelmsford was voted the winner by supporters as United’s Goal of the Month for September.
The Yellow Army were unanimous in their choice for September’s winner, as Brett McGavin’s first time volley against Chelmsford City on Saturday 9th September started the scoring in a game United went on to win 2-1. McGavin was delighted to get the recognition for his superb goal.
“It’s a nice feeling to be recognised for the goal and think it was important to come in a game where we got the three points, and obviously every goal you score you’d like to think it contributes to a win, but it’s really nice to be recognised.”
” The goals don’t always come off like that one did, but the Gaffer encourages me to shoot as I think I have a good strike so why not have a crack sometimes, and obviously sometimes they go in.”
