Torquay United AFC is delighted to announce the signing of former Crewe, Bury and Plymouth winger Byron Moore.

An experienced and versatile player who has won promotion from League Two on no less than three occasions, Moore’s arrival at Plainmoor provides The Gulls with an added boost ahead of the trip to Wrexham on Saturday, following his 43 appearances for The Pilgrims in 2020/21.

Having played in a number of different positions throughout his career, including at wing-back and up front, manager Gary Johnson is understandably delighted to make Byron the latest addition to his squad.

“Yes, I can confirm that Byron Moore has signed for us today,” said Johnson on Friday evening.

“He has trained with us for the last week or so, obviously he’s well known to us from his Plymouth days. He did very well with our neighbours from up the road, and was very much a big part of their promotion. He’s a very experienced player with a few promotions on his CV, he’s had a successful career.

“We’ve invited him in, and he showed us immediately his qualities. He’s a good footballer who can play in any forward or wing-back position. So, we welcome him to our squad, and we hope he enjoys his stay at Torquay United.

“He goes straight into the squad tomorrow.”

Welcome to Plainmoor, Byron!
