Torquay United AFC is delighted to announce that Connor Lemonheigh-Evans has joined the club on a permanent basis.
Lemonheigh-Evans, 23, returns to Plainmoor from Championship side Bristol City, after making 23 appearances whilst on loan for Gary Johnson’s men last season.
That spell at United was the latest of three successful temporary spells at the club, with the former Wales Under-21 midfielder also playing a pivotal role in The Gulls securing the 2018/19 National League South title.
Having already chalked up 8 goals and 19 assists during his 73 appearances on the English Riviera, both manager and player are now looking forward to Connor continuing in that vein as a fully-fledged Torquay player.
“The worst-kept secret has now been revealed, and I’m delighted to confirm that Connor Lemonheigh-Evans is now a Torquay United player,” began Johnson.
“It’s a fantastic signing for our club. Connor has committed himself to the area, and I look forward to once again working with him for the coming season. He was unlucky last season with a couple of bad tackles that led to lengthy injuries, but he’s 100% now, and Connor at 100% is a real asset to us.”
The player himself is also clearly excited about the season ahead.
“I’m glad to be back,” said Lemonheigh-Evans.
“I know the club well, I know the place well, and have worked with the Gaffer for the last two years, so it was a no-brainer really to come back and play football in as many games as I can.
“I’m looking forward to getting back in, seeing the boys again and cracking on!”
