United striker Duane Ofori-Acheampong was at Spires College spending the afternoon with groups of youngsters attending a Torquay United Community Sports Trust’s Half Term Camp.

Duane told us about his afternoon, his time doing  the enjoyment that these camps can bring to the youngsters attending

“I think it was really good, good to have some good conversations with some of the coaches as well, I had a similar experience myself in North London with Arsenal who obviously did it in our community, so yeah it’s good to see the kids enjoying it because I have been there and done it as well.”

“It’s a good thing for the kids to get involved in, and as I was saying to one of the coaches it was a big part of me and my friends staying out of trouble in North London at that time when growing up, everyone was excited after school to come and play and they used to do things like if teams won they would get tickets to watch an Arsenal game, and players used to come along to the sessions, so I definitely think it was something that kept us on the straight and narrow.”

“It’s good to see and we used to get taken on trips, so i definitely enjoy seeing these things and know what it means to the kids who are doing it.”
