United’s U18s are once again looking forward to FA Youth Cup action when they take on Totton & Eling at Plainmoor on Monday night.

United overcame Yate Town 7-2 to make it to the first round proper. The match wasn’t without its scares according to defender Josh Baxter as the team conceded two headed goals before clicking into gear.

“We started off slowly and went 2-0 down early on,” explained Josh. “We hadn’t come up against that before and it was gutting that we didn’t switch on from the kick-off.  We came back from there and it was 4-2 at half-time.”

Olaf Koszela scored four on the night and Cole Harford got the other three.

“It’s a good pitch and there was a good atmosphere at Plainmoor. It will help us if there is more support.”

It’s not just in the FA Youth Cup that the team have been rattling in the goals. They recently overcame Bath City 3-0 away from home. Olaf Koszela scored twice with Kane Gonzalez notching too. Then came an 8-2 victory over Salisbury with Koszela scoring six with Harry Ford and Josh Parry also getting on the score sheet.
