On-loan striker Tope Fadahunsi has extended his stay at Torquay United, having agreed to remain at Plainmoor until the end of the season.

Having arrived on loan from Sutton United in January, Tope made his debut in United’s 1-0 victory over Maidstone at Plainmoor before going on to open his scoring account away at Woking in the 1-1 draw that followed.

The 23-year-old’s displays have continued to impress the Yellow Army since that promising start, and United manager Gary Johnson is pleased that the forward’s immediate future will remain in a Gulls’ shirt.

“We’re delighted that Sutton have allowed us to keep Tope on loan until the end of the season,” said Johnson.

“He seems to be enjoying it here, he’s scored a couple and made a couple, and long may that continue.”

The Gulls’ boss also confirmed that another on-loan striker, James Crole, has now returned to parent club Cardiff City.

“We’d like to confirm that James Crole was recalled by Cardiff because of an ankle injury. They weren’t sure of the severity, so they are going to keep him around for the rest of the season to monitor him.”
