Boss Gary Johnson gave his reaction to a superb late rally from his side, who fought back from two goals down to seal a point at Chesterfield.

“The lads showed a lot of desire and passion in that last seven minutes,” began Johnson.

“I certainly wasn’t pleased with the rest of our game, although we did create a couple of good chances, but only half-ones. They dictated the game a little bit, looked a little bit quicker than us, and we didn’t really get going. But, we kept our team’s reputation, the manager’s reputation – and my staff’s – and our Club’s reputation intact, because in the end, after 88 minutes, this was  a very good point.

“I don’t want to come here and get points at these places, I want to come here to win, and win the game being the best team, and that’s how you win the league. So, we’ve got a little bit to do.”

The Gaffer once again paid tribute to the travelling Yellow Army, and was in no doubt that their efforts from the stands helped play a part in teh late fightback.

“Our supporters and our team showed their little bit of pride and passion, and I’m very pleased of our players, and I’m proud of our supporters, because we were 2-0 down, and they gave it a bit of a go – through the game.

“They helped us, along with me and Downesy losing our voices, and that helped us get that ball in their area, be brave, and show passion. One scruffy goal, one quality goal, but it doesn’t matter how they go in.”
