Torquay United manager Gary Johnson has been awarded the Vanarama National League Manager of the Month Award for April.
United enjoyed a superb run of form during the season’s penultimate month, winning six and drawing one of their seven fixtures, to see The Gulls storm back to the top of the National League table.
“I appreciate winning this prestigious award,” began Johnson, upon receiving recognition for the second time this season.
“However, it’s also important to acknowledge the effort and work done by our staff, our players, and our board of directors, in seeing us through this very difficult time of a covid season.
“We will do our best to see the season out – it should be very exciting, and we will do everything in our power to give the Club and its fans promotion over the next few weeks.
“So if people don’t mind, I’d like to call this award ‘The Club of the Month’, and I look forward to seeing our supporters very soon at Plainmoor on the 22nd.”
