United’s U18s secured derby bragging rights on Saturday, as they thumped Somerset neighbours Yeovil Town 5-0 at South Devon College.

Tom Chastey, who has figured in Gary Johnson’s first-team matchday squad in recent weeks, gave a further glimpse of his promise with a hat-trick, with Gene Price and Andrew Ellis also getting on the scoresheet to round off a memorable showing from Kevin Wills’ side.

With league leaders Bridgwater out of action, Torquay’s handsome victory saw the Young Gulls reduce the gap at the top of the table to just three points, with United still possessing two games in hand.

As both sides are level-pegging on goal difference, Wills’ side will now have the chance to take over at the summit this weekend, as they use up one of their games in hand at home to bottom-of-the-table Wimborne.
