Gary Johnson has given his thoughts on Saturday’s 4-3 home defeat against Slough, as the visitors emerged as late winners at Plainmoor.

Following on from the 3-2 reverse at Maidstone on Tuesday evening, The Gulls again suffered late heartbreak, with the United boss understandably disappointed not to take anything away from a match in which his side lead three times.

“I’m gutted really,” began Johnson.

“We got ourselves 1-0 up, 2-1 up, 3-2 up and they kept coming back. I just thought – the same as them – the defending in the boxes wasn’t very good.

“There was a lot of ricochets, there was a lot of opportunities for both teams really, but they probably had more. The last goal was a killer, and that’s how football goes sometimes when it’s not quite going well for you. It’s difficult, and I’m disappointed.”
