Brett McGavin has completed a hat-trick of Goal of the Month accolades for 2023/24, with his superb free-kick v Weymouth getting the Yellow Army’s seal of approval for December.
Despite facing stiff competition from Dillon De Silva, Brad Ash, Lewis Collins and Ollie Tomlinson, it was McGavin’s set-piece special that was eventually chosen as December’s best strike by United supporters, with Gulls fans once again voting in their numbers to have their say.
The United midfielder was delighted to receive his third award, and again paid tribute to those who voted.
“I’m obviously really happy to win another Goal of the Month award,” began Brett.
“I practice those sorts of free-kicks a lot and fortunately it’s paid off in a game where we also picked up three points. I’d like to thank all of the fans who voted, and I really appreciate everyone’s support.”
