With the Torquay United Community Sports Trust keeping football-mad kids entertained with their Half Term courses this week, three United stars were on hand to make their days even more memorable.

Providing the children with proof of what their hard work can eventually achieve, former youth team starlets Olaf Koszela, Lewis Brooks and Jack Winsor were there to answer questions from the group, present awards, and even referee a few games!

All three players that attended the sessions at both Paignton Academy and Torquay Academy were eager to join in the fun, with the youngsters clearly delighted with their presence.

Speaking after the session at Torquay Academy, former TA student Olaf reminisced on his attending similar camps as a child himself.

“It’s great really, I was one of them once. I thought that if I was young and a first team player would come in, I would get a buzz from it. I hope that they’re quite happy that we’re coming in.

Lewis meanwhile, reflected on an enjoyable afternoon for all involved.

“It’s nice seeing them going and play and enjoying it. It’s good for young lads to come in and play football – it’s what they enjoy doing so, it’s good for their future.”

For Jack, it was also case of reliving old memories at Paignton Academy.

“When I was this age, I didn’t want to be doing anything else, apart from playing football this half-term, so I love to see it, and it’s nice to be back!”
