TUAFC are delighted that once again Mr Mortgages have agreed to be a pitchside Board Sponsor for the 2023/24 season.
Mr Mortgages are an award winning independent mortgage and insurance brokers who provide all types of finance. The family owned business was established in 2004 and is run by Director Mark Rainey; the company is now in its 20th year of trading.
After visiting Plainmoor recently, Mark told us a bit more about the business.
“I set up the company 19 years ago in 2004, I’m a mortgage broker and I used to work for Barclays Bank, but I thought I could help more people by working for myself, so I’ve done that and luckily we have done pretty well and have been able to expanded to 16 staff since the business has been going. We are local but we cover clients all over the country, and obviously keen Torquay United supporters as well.”
Mark went on to reveal how his proactive approach to becoming one of the Club’s sponsors has lead to a number of his staff becoming fellow Gulls fans too.
“In terms of sponsoring the team, it was about three or four years ago that I approached Torquay United to see if we could do some pitch-board sponsorship, and we have.
“I first watched a Torquay game when I was around seven or eight years old, so been around Torquay for most of my life, and now quite a few of my staff have started following the Gulls as well so it has been really good.
“I am happy to support local businesses, which i have done with lots of local companies, and we also sponsor Torquay United’s Womens team as well.”
