Prior to kick-off last Saturday, The Gulls Nest made its welcome return to the Torquay United matchday experience, as it re-opened under the management of a former Gulls favourite.

John Turner enjoyed two spells as a goalkeeper at Plainmoor, before running The Jolly Sailor pub in Ogwell prior to it sadly being destroyed by fire earlier this year.

Turner’s presence behind the bar gives the Yellow Army yet another reason to enjoy their pre-match beverages before the action commences, with The Gulls Nest open tomorrow from 6.15pm, ahead of United’s final pre-season fixture against Bournemouth U23s (7.45pm KO).

Torquay United AFC would also like to place on record its thanks to our official drinks supplier Tolchards, as our highly successful working partnership with them continues to go from strength to strength.

The Club remains on the lookout for new recruits to our Hospitality Staff team to serve supporters with drinks and bar snacks at Plainmoor – further information and details on how to apply are available here.
