Our Match Sponsors for tomorrow’s game against Notts County will see family and friends of Dave Lavercombe head to Plainmoor in tribute to the devoted United fan.

Dave, a season ticket holder and a regular on the Popside, had supported the club since the 1970s, and it was with great sadness that the Club learned of his sudden passing in August 2020.

Having been involved with Apollo for a long period, he considered this local sports club to be his second family, with his sons Dan and Jack flourishing there. Dan, of course, would go on to make 25 appearances for Torquay United’s first team between 2013-2017, whilst Jack is continuing to pursue a career as a Firefighter.

As a proud family man, Dave would no doubt be delighted with the progress both have made in their respective careers.

TUAFC is delighted to have the opportunity to welcome Dave’s wife Angie – also a supporter of the club – back alongside Dave’s sister Christine and mum Jenny at Plainmoor tomorrow, where they will be joined by members of Apollo, who will also be paying tribute, alongside lifelong friends.

Never forgotten and loved by so many.
