Kevin Wills’ Under-18s continued their superb form on Saturday morning, as they produced another five-star showing at Bath City.

A trip to Twerton Park to take on 4th-placed City is never likely to be an easy task, however the Young Gulls were in control from almost the first whistle, and were already three goals to the good at the break, courtesy of strikes from Jacob Wellington, Liam Poole and Jack Kennell.

Despite Bath’s best efforts, things got little better for them after the change of ends, with United extending their lead further, thanks to a second-half brace form Tom Chastey to round off a 5-0 away day triumph.

That win, in conjunction with the postponement of title challengers Bridgwater’s clash at Brimscombe & Thrupp, saw Torquay extend their lead at the top of the South West Counties Youth League table to three points, whilst maintaining a game in hand over their Somerset rivals.

Those statistics set up things nicely for this coming weekend, as Wills’ side head to Bridgwater for a potentially pivotal match in the 2023/24 title race.
